Velmore Hotel Estate located on the banks of the Hennops River has often been the chosen venue to South African VIPs, including President Jacob Zuma and the former reserve governor Tito Mboweni.

Emil Keyser, owner of Velmore Hotel Estate, built the Velmore Grande Hotel in November 2009 to accommodate the German soccer team and the associated German media during the 2010 FIFA Soccer Cup.
