Butterfly Chickens

Butterfly Chickens (Pty) Ltd started trading as in 1994 out of premises in Robertsham, Johannesburg. It was then known as Gold Reef Meat Market. The company has since moved to premises in Mandy Road Reuven, Johannesburg changing its name from Gold Reef to Butterfly Chickens. The whole operation is now located in Reuven Johannesburg and services the greater Vaal triangle and Pretoria areas.

The company's primary product offering has always been the provision of fresh marinated flattie chicken, spiced chicken for the deli rotisseries, and fresh Whole Chicken and Chicken Portions on a wholesale basis to Supermarket Chains, Independent Supermarkets, Butcheries, Takeaways, and Restaurants.

We currently process approximately 20,000 birds per week. Frozen Fish, Crumbed products, and Chips have been added to the product offering, and we are now venturing into the home delivery market as well, making wholesale products and prices available to the home shopper.
